I'm Oscar. Proud father of three grown sons, a railroad man for over 20 years, and a firm believer in the sustaining grace of Jesus... and a really good cup of coffee. Iron Rail Coffee was built from the life I've lived and the values I hold close: faith, family, genuine connection, and quality without compromise.
This is more than coffee to me. It's a dream — and a way of finding a little joy in an industry that asks a great deal of its workers and the families who love them. After more than two decades of riding the rails, I know the grit, sacrifice, and strength it takes, so I set out to create something good from that story. From the beginning, I knew this business had to be about more than what's in the bag. It had to reflect the life I have lived, the people I love, and the community that has shaped me.
Kansas City has long felt like home. Even after a (very) short time away, it was clear this was where I belong. I love this city deeply, and because it has given so much to my family, I have made giving back part of Iron Rail Coffee from the very beginning.

Iron Rail Coffee's roots might run deep in the railroad industry, but our reach goes further. And because we believe good coffee should do some good too — every quarter, we partner with a local nonprofit. That means 5% of every sale goes straight to a featured local organization, helping turn each cup into something bigger than itself. That's a smooth, bold move.
